Pride Month 2025: Progress with Purpose

Every June, Canadians come together to honour the history, activism, and achievements of 2SLGBTQIA+ people during Pride Month. It’s a time to celebrate the freedom to love, to live authentically, and to be seen. But it is also a time to reflect on the inequalities that still exist—and the work we must continue.

At Modern Commons, we stand for a Canada where every individual, no matter their gender identity or sexual orientation, is protected, respected, and empowered. That means:

• Strengthening protections against hate and discrimination

• Supporting inclusive education and mental health care

• Ensuring access to safe, affordable housing and healthcare

• Advocating for rural and underrepresented voices within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community

Pride is political. It’s powerful. And it’s essential. We walk with our neighbours, friends, and family members who continue to push for dignity, safety, and equality—not just in June, but every day of the year.
